Dr. Chryso Pefkaros Katsoufis is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, of the Department of Pediatrics. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology.

She received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences and French language at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.  She, then, received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  Her residency training in Pediatrics and fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology were both completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital/Holtz Children's Hospital, in affiliation with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

In addition to her work in the clinical practice, research and fellowship education of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, she is an Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Training Program.

Her engagement on the national stage has been as a faculty speaker and moderator for the Pediatric Nephrology Seminar & Workshop in Pediatric Critical Care Nephrology, as well as for the Renal Research Institute Pediatric Nephrology Fellows' Conference.  She participates in clinical trials and multicenter collaborative research for pediatric patients with kidney disease, and is currently involved in a team-science grant initiative to study the effects of congenital Zika virus infection.
