Dr. Tanya Clarke is from Kingston Jamaica. After completing medical school at the University of the West Indies, she came to the USA for her Internal Medicine Residency, which she completed at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Weston, Florida from 2002-2005. There, she was the first female and only the second person to graduate from the Faculty of Medical Sciences with distinction. She subsequently received a national award for this achievement.
After completing residency, she returned to Jamaica in 2005 to join the faculty of alma mater where she served as a Lecturer/ Professor and Consultant/ Attending in internal medicine for more than 10 years. There, she held numerous leadership roles in medical student education and committee memberships.
Dr. Clarke has multiple publications and has presented at conferences locally and internationally and she is also the founder and CEO of Platinum Health Care in Kingston, Jamaica.
She has spent time training at Yale University, University of Dundee and the Olympic Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
She joined the Faculty of the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Miami in May 2016.
