Dr. Yolanda Reyes-Iglesias graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine. She did her neurology residency at the University District Hospital, San Juan Puerto Rico and a vascular neurology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami.

Dr. Reyes-Iglesias established the first inpatient stroke unit in Puerto Rico at the San Juan VA Medical Center.

She served as the Chief of the Neurology Service at Miami VA Medical Center from 2003-2014.  Under her leadership, the Miami VA obtained State accreditation as a Primary Stroke Center, was designated an Epilepsy Center of Excellence and the Sleep laboratory was fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Reyes-Iglesias served as Interim Chief of Staff for the Miami VA Medical Center in 2012.

She has participated in several clinical trials for acute stroke treatment and stroke prevention.

Dr. Reyes-Iglesias has been a leader or member of several committees for quality improvement, education and new program initiatives at the Miami VA Medical Center and University of Miami.

She is an active clinician and runs a busy outpatient clinic at the Broward outpatient community based clinic of the Miami VA Medical Center. She also participates in the Neurovascular clinics and blood flow laboratory at the Miami VA overseeing residents and fellows.

Dr. Reyes-Iglesias has trained several neurology residents and fellows. She is the Neurology Clerkship Director and Co-Director of the Basic Sciences Neurology Module for the Department of Neurology, Miller School of Medicine.
